Measures to improve accessibility

We have implemented a series of measures aimed to improve accessibility. This implementation provides several benefits, among which:

  • Facilitating access to the content for people, regardless of their physical condition or their environment.
  • Allowing access using different user agents.
  • Including clear and well-structured content.
  • Improving navigation, as well as the user's experience.

Among the measures adopted, we can mention the following:

  • Logical ordering of the elements on the screen and the content in the code.
  • Use of W3C standards.
  • XHTML 1.0 grammar and CSS version 2.
  • Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0, level AA).

Design and layout

The design and layout of the site have been developed according to the current Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0), which have a direct effect on this part of the development of the site.

Navigation

To ease navigation, all the documents in the site maintain a similar structure and include the same elements.
Utilities section
The header in each page shows a utilities section including links to the main sections.
Breadcrumbs
All the documents in the site are linked by a mechanism called “breadcrumbs”, which positions the user in the context of the site, showing a possible route from the main page to the current document.
Information of the document
Additionally, the bottom part of each document includes access to the privacy policy and the legal aspects directly related to the content published on the site.
Skip links
To facilitate access to content for users needing assistive technology (voice navigation systems, screen readers, etc.), we have created direct skip links to the navigation sections and the content of the documents.
Keyboard shortcuts
We provide access to the main sections and utilities in the site using keyboard shortcuts.
